Firdaus Nasir Trust

Firdaus Nasir Trust (FNT) started its journey as once a week (Friday) charitable clinic in March 1996. It is located 50 kilometers from Dhaka in Gorai, Mominnagar in Tangail District. It is a very poor area and predominantly inhabited by the minority community. The nearest hospital is seven kilometers from the clinic.

In December 1999 it was transformed to thrice a week clinic i.e. Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. In January 2003 it was converted to seven days a week clinic. On average over 100 patients (mostly women and small children) come for treatment every day that clinic is open. It is attended by two Doctors assisted by administrative assistants and other requisite staff.

Since January 2018, it has become a full fledged 10 bed hospital having successfully completed quite a few complicated child delivery cases, surgeries and other related healthcare services. The hospital now has an x-ray lab including ECG, ultrasonography, a pathology lab, an operation theater as well as a pharmacy, open 24hrs.

The Trust was formally registered on 25th May 1999 with 21 members as Trustees. Late Captain Syed Asghar Rizvi was the founder Chairperson with Mr. Syed Jowher Rizvi as Secretary General. Presently the Trust is headed by Prof. (Dr.) Syed Gowher Rizvi as Chairperson and Mr. Syed Jowher Rizvi continues to be its Secretary General. Most of the members of the Trust actively participate in the management of the project.
