The Summit Alliance Port Limited on Thursday said that it was facilitating services to divert Dhaka-bound containers from the Chittagong sea port to its Inland Water Container Terminal at Muktarpur against the backdrop of severe congestion at the Kamalapur inland container depot due to coronavirus-induced shutdown.
It said it introduced specially designed inland container vessels for providing the much-needed alternative import logistics solutions for the country.
According to a press release of SAPL, the listed company would provide the much-needed relief to already congested Chattogram port and Kamalapur ICD.
SAPL managing director Jowher Rizvi said that the company was working to support the agriculture sector, textile and knitting industry, pharmaceutical and other manufacturers by bringing raw materials to the anxious importers in Dhaka.
Besides, SAPL was helping Chattogram port and Kamalapur ICD decongest the container yards.
